The Minnesota Quilt show has been in our catalog of tours since we began visiting quilt shows! This is a guild show professionally presented in great surroundings and widely attended by almost 10,000!   Year after year this show has given us an unbelievable quantity of  inspirational quilts.  This year we’re adding a day to this adventure . We’ll take this time to visit two of our favorite fabric warehouses in Minneapolis and have a little fun at the theatre production of Church Basement Ladies II.

Day One:  After an early departure from Des Moines and pickups including Ankeny and Ames, we’ll arrive mid-morning to the quilt show.  You will have all day to visit the  wonderful quilts and vendors always present at this show.  The bus will depart late afternoon for our Minneapolis hotel.  The theatre is conveniently attached to our hotel.  Enjoy this spoof on Minnesota life and the Lutheran ways!  I think we will all be able to relate—especially this Minnesotan!

Day two:  What a fun day we have planned.  First we stop at S. R. Harris. This fabric warehouse has over 30,000 sq ft of fabric.  There are stations throughout the store to cut your own—no lines!  This store can be overwhelming and the prices are unbelievable—and they always reward us with a large discount. Now don’t despair, we have another favorite spot at Mill End Textiles.  This is their flagship store. Their fabric is displayed more like a fabric store.  They have the whole variety of fabrics just as the prior store with maybe more of an emphasis on cottons. They too love to see us come and reward our bus with a store discount.  We depart mid-afternoon to arrive in Des Moines early evening.
