Sew Great Tours began in 1993 with Paducah as our first tour destination. What first started as a full service tour company has been tailored into a group travel company offering destinations and travel customized for the quilt enthusiast. We offer travel to the nationally known quilt shows and tours to areas rich in quilting flavor.
We are located in Nevada, IA and for those not familiar with my town, it is more or less in the middle of Iowa or the middle of the USA. Our tours depart from Ames and Des Moines, IA with pickups in route.
Who travels with us...Quilters, non-quilters, mothers, daughters, sisters, husbands, grandmothers, singles, friends, groups, teachers, designers and plain folk! Everyone is welcome and everyone feels like they are part of the group with Sew Great Tours! Travel without a companion...Our accommodations are setup as single, double, triple and quad. Our rooms usually have two beds and possibly a sofa bed. It is not uncommon for many of our travelers to sign up requesting a roommate. All efforts will be made to accommodate this request. You may not have a traveling partner when you sign up for the trip, but you will have a bus load of new friends by the time the tour returns!
How to Join the Tour... MEET THE BUS: All the tours depart from Ames and Des Moines, IA. The tour descriptions also reflect those departures. FLY-IN: Our host hotel in Des Moines offers a complimentary airport shuttle for those wishing to fly-in to meet the tour at the tour departure point. MEET THE GROUP: Special arrangements can be made to meet the group in route to the destination, or to fly-in to a major airport in route or to fly-in or drive to the destination and join the tour. An adjustment to the tour rate will be applied where applicable.
Have your own group...A group can be 5 people or 50. Sew Great Tours knows quilting and quilt travelers. Let us make your arrangements for the quilting adventures and destinations your group, guild, or store desires!
